Michael Sidgmore is a Co-Founder and General Partner of Broadhaven Ventures, a global early-stage investor that invests in financial technology businesses and incubates alternative asset managers including Cantilever Group, an investment firm providing minority capital solutions to General Partners.
Michael is the Founder of the leading private markets focused podcast and content platform Alt Goes Mainstream (AGM), which has produced over 230 podcasts with industry leaders and a weekly newsletter that reaches over 400,000 professionals across both AGM's channels and through a syndication partnership with Bloomberg. Michael has served on the boards of Nowports, Liveoak (acq. DocuSign), Covalto, Harvest (acq. Envestnet) and as an advisor to Republic, Kovi (acq. Moove) and Allocate.
Prior to co-founding Broadhaven Ventures, Michael was a pre-product employee, Senior Vice President and seed investor at iCapital, where he built the sales team for the leading technology platform in alternatives with over $1 trillion in platform assets. Prior to iCapital, he was employee #16 and the first sales hire at Mosaic, a residential solar financing platform backed by Warburg Pincus that has completed over $14 billion in home solar loan originations.
Michael started his career as an investor at Goldman Sachs in their Principal Strategic Investments Group. Michael is an investor in Angel City FC, the women's soccer team in LA. He holds a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
Greg DePetris is a co-founder, investor and director in a portfolio of early-stage companies centered on the application of financial market structure and technology to emerging industries and new products. He supports various firm investments in operational and governance capacities, most recently as the lead director of MoneyLion (NYSE:ML) and as a co-founder of Vertical Acres, a customer acquisition marketplace. Mr. DePetris was previously the Director of Corporate Strategy for Apex Fintech Solutions. He joined Apex following their acquisition of PDQ, an auction-based alternative trading system (ATS) that he co-founded.
Mr. DePetris was a co-founder of Binary Event Network, a real-time gaming application for content verticals spanning sports, politics, finance, current events and weather. He was also a co-founder of Quadriserv, operator of the all-electronic AQS, a CCP-based secured funding platform with OCC central counterparty clearing that was acquired by Equilend. Mr. DePetris co-founded Intrade, the world’s first prediction market, that was acquired by TradeSports. He began his career as a commodities floor broker and proprietary trader.
John Edge has spent over 20 years at the vanguard of innovation in financial markets, building, operating and advising companies that seek to disrupt the status quo. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of Kavara, an early-stage business developing breakthrough AI that enterprises can deploy in complex environments. Previously, Mr. Edge was a FinTech entrepreneur, having co-founded Red Kite Financial Markets, a data analytics company providing regulatory compliance solutions to capital markets (sold to NICE Systems). Prior to Red Kite, he led electronic trading innovation at the capital markets groups of investment banks, including J.P. Morgan, Lehman Brothers and UBS.
Mr. Edge has academic appointments as a Connection Science Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and as a visiting Fellow at Oxford University. He is the co-founder of ID2020, a global public-private alliance championing individuals’ rights to privacy and access to decentralized technologies, and Chairman Emeritus of the Whitechapel Think Tank, a collaborative forum at the forefront of advancing global innovation in distributed ledger technologies. Mr. Edge holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds.
